Family's Determined Efforts Amidst Vijayakanth's Health Struggle
As fervent prayers and well-wishes pour in from party members and followers, hoping for Vijayakanth's rapid and enduring recovery, his son has revealed the unfortunate turn of events. On Monday, August 21, Vijayakanth's sons, Vijayaprabakaran and Shanmuga Pandian, visited the Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple in Madurai to offer their prayers.
Following the prayers, Vijayaprabakaran addressed the media, disclosing the latest health setback his father is facing. He expressed, "Captain Vijayakanth is presently struggling with a health setback. Nonetheless, we firmly believe that he will not only overcome this challenge but will also emerge stronger. We are wholeheartedly committed to his recovery, just as you maintain your belief."
Despite this health setback, Vijayaprabakaran reassured the public that Vijayakanth's overall condition is stable, highlighting that there are no major causes for immediate concern. It's worth noting that in June 2022, Vijayakanth's right toe was amputated at a private hospital in Chennai due to complications arising from diabetes. Simultaneously, he underwent a surgical procedure. During his hospitalisation, the party issued a statement explaining, "Due to Captain Vijayakanth's longstanding struggle with diabetes, elevated glucose levels impeded blood circulation in his right toe. As per medical advice, the toe had to be amputated."
