Captain Miller OTT Release: Captain Miller is a period action-adventure movie scripted and helmed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under Sathya Jyothi Films. Its theatrical trailer was unveiled on January 6, 2024.

Captain Miller hit theatres on January 12, 2024, aligning with the Pongal festivities. The film was showcased in both IMAX and 2D formats.

The film features Dhanush in the lead, supported by a talented ensemble including Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken, and Edward Sonnenblick.

The script was penned by Matheswaran back in 2018, with initial plans for production by Sathya Jyothi Films. However, the project remained in a tentative state until 2019, when it began to take shape. Initially known as D47, signifying Dhanush's 47th lead role, the film was officially announced in July 2022. Principal photography commenced that September across Chennai, Tirunelveli, and Tenkasi.

The ensemble cast of 'Captain Miller' features Dhanush in the role of Captain Miller/Eesa/Analeesan, joined by Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, John Kokken, Edward Sonnenblick, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Vinoth Kishan, Nassar, Alexx O'Nell, Elango Kumaravel, Viji Chandrasekhar, "Merku Thodarchi Malai" Antony, Bala Saravanan, Swayam Siddha, Sumesh Moor, and Amir Ali Shaik.

G. V. Prakash Kumar handles the music composition, Siddhartha Nuni manages the cinematography, and Nagooran Ramachandran takes charge of editing.

Behind Captain Miller's Climax Trim And Its Impact

In an interview before the movie's release, Arun Matheswaran revealed a significant decision regarding the climax of the film "Captain Miller." Approximately four minutes of a crucial action sequence underwent trimming to secure a 'U/A' certification rather than an 'A' certificate. Arun Matheswaran expressed a bittersweet sentiment, acknowledging that, as a creator, the untouched sequence could have enhanced the film further. However, adhering to censor board regulations was imperative. Despite this decision, the director reassured fans that the essence and soul of the film remain intact, and the impact on the storyline due to the trimmed segment is minimal.

The movie 'Captain Miller' is the first part of a planned trilogy and has managed to collect impressive figures at the box office since its release. Amazon Prime has secured the digital streaming rights to the movie, which is set to arrive on OTT on February 9th.
