Raayan Screenplay Selected For Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences Library: In a significant milestone for Tamil cinema, the screenplay of the film "Raayan" has been selected to be part of the prestigious library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This remarkable achievement was announced by Sun Pictures, the production company behind the film. The inclusion of "Raayan" in the Academy's library is a testament to the film's excellence in storytelling and direction, bringing immense joy and pride to Sun Pictures, Dhanush, and the entire "Raayan" film crew.
The news has been met with widespread acclaim, with many praising Dhanush for this notable honour as a director. Dhanush, a versatile actor and filmmaker, has written, directed, and starred in his 50th film, "Raayan," marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career. The film was released on July 26 and features a stellar cast, including S.J. Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, and Saravanan, among others.
Raayan Synopsis
Set in the 1990s, "Raayan" follows the story of Kathavaraayan "Raayan," who becomes the caretaker of his three younger siblings after their parents disappear. Raayan moves to North Chennai, where he grows up to own a fast-food hotel, with his siblings pursuing their own paths. The film takes a tumultuous turn when Muthu, the hot-headed brother, kills a gangster's son, entangling them in a dangerous web of gang rivalry and police scheming. As they navigate deception and revenge, their unity and resilience are put to the test, making for a gripping narrative filled with action and drama.

In the film, Dhanush stars as Kathavaraayan "Raayan," with Rakul portraying young Raayan. Prakash Raj plays Commissioner R. Sargunam, and S. J. Suryah takes on the role of Sethuraman "Sethu." Selvaraghavan appears as Sekhar, Raayan's father figure, while Sundeep Kishan and Avanish portray Muthuvelraayan "Muthu," Raayan's younger brother, in adult and young versions, respectively.
