Indian 2 Censor Review: Excitement is mounting for the release of Kamal Haasan's much-awaited film, 'Indian 2,' scheduled to premiere in theatres on July 12, 2024. Directed by S. Shankar, this eagerly anticipated sequel to the iconic 'Indian' will be presented in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Titled 'Indian 2' in Tamil, 'Hindustani 2' in Hindi, and 'Bharateeyudu 2' in Telugu, the film promises an exceptional cinematic experience and is set to be a major highlight of the year.

According to the latest update, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) team highly appreciated "Indian 2." During a media interaction promoting the film, Kamal Haasan confirmed that he received positive feedback from the CBFC. He also expressed his belief that the appreciation from the Censor Board is genuine.

Indian 2 Cast

The cast of "Indian 2" includes Kamal Haasan portraying Veerasekaran Senapathy, famously known as "Indian," alongside Siddharth as Chitra Varadharajan. Other notable actors in the film are Rakul Preet Singh, S. J. Suryah, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar as Aarthi, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakani, Kalidas Jayaram, Nedumudi Venu playing Inspector Krishnaswamy, Delhi Ganesh, Manobala, Jagan as Thambesh, Gulshan Grover, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Akhilendra Mishra, Jayaprakash, G. Indian 2 Premise

Senapathy, a former freedom fighter turned vigilante known for battling corruption in India, comes back from Hong Kong to assist Chitra Varadharajan, who exposes corrupt politicians via online videos.

Indian 2 Creative Team

The film features a talented team, including composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographers Ravi Varman and R. Rathnavelu, editor A. Sreekar Prasad, production designer T. Muthuraj, and visual effects supervisor V. Srinivas Mohan.

Indian 2 Music

Anirudh Ravichander is teaming up with director Shankar for the first time, replacing Shankar's regular collaborator, A. R. Rahman, who composed the music for the 1996 film. This project will be Anirudh's second collaboration with Kamal Haasan, following their work together on "Vikram."

After receiving the offer in November 2017, Anirudh began composing the songs in December 2017, taking a year to complete the album. He noted that the delay in the release of Shankar's "2.0" provided him with additional time to work on the film's music.

Indian 2 Digital and Satellite Rights

Reportedly the film's digital streaming rights were purchased by Netflix for a price of ₹200 crore (US$24 million). The satellite rights were acquired by Kalaignar TV.

Indian 2 is set for a global release on July 12 in theaters, including standard and IMAX formats. Given its extended runtime exceeding six hours, the film has been divided into two parts, with Indian 3 slated for release in 2025.

On March 24, 2024, Kamal Haasan confirmed the third installment in the franchise, revealing that "Indian 3" was filmed concurrently with "Indian 2." In May, he announced their goal to release "Indian 3" in January 2025, six months following the release of its predecessor.During the trailer launch of Indian 2, Shankar explained that the decision to split the film was driven by his satisfaction with the footage captured, emphasizing that reducing its length would compromise its overall quality.
