Premgi Amaren's Mother-in-Law Reveals Her Initial Reservations Towards The Actor And What Changed Her Mind

Premji Amaren's Marriage With Indhu: Actor Premji Amaren, the younger son of renowned music composer Gangai Amaran and the younger brother of director Venkat Prabhu, has always been a figure surrounded by intrigue and controversy. Known for his candidness and a string of high-profile relationships, Premji had previously been in the spotlight for his failed romance with actress Sona. The relationship ended due to their differences, and Premji, who had been vocal about his single status, had proudly embraced the title of "forever single."
In a surprising twist, Premji announced his marriage details in May of this year, stunning both fans and the media alike. Director Venkat Prabhu, Premji's elder brother, confirmed that the wedding would take place at the Thiruthani Murugan Temple. On June 9, 2024, Premji wed Indhu, a bank employee from Erode, in a modest and intimate ceremony. The wedding was conducted with simplicity, with Venkat Prabhu performing the rituals and Gangai Amaran bestowing his blessings as Premji tied the nuptial thread on his bride.
Despite the close-knit nature of the event, the wedding did not see the presence of some notable family members. Gangai Amaran's elder brother, Ilaiyaraaja, who was abroad for a scheduled event, was unable to attend. However, he extended a warm gesture by inviting Premji and Indhu to his home prior to the wedding, where he hosted them for a special meal and presented them with thoughtful gifts. Additionally, it was reported that Premji's cousin, Yuvan Shankar Raja, did not attend the wedding, reportedly due to his conversion to Islam and the wedding's Hindu temple setting. Nonetheless, neither Premji nor Yuvan Shankar Raja have made any official statements regarding this matter.
Premgi Amaren's Mother-in-Law Reveals Initial Reservations
In the aftermath of the wedding, videos showcasing Premji's involvement in household chores and cooking with his wife emerged, causing a buzz on social media. These glimpses into his domestic life have sparked widespread discussion among fans. Recently, Premji's mother-in-law, Sharmila, provided a candid interview where she shared her initial doubts about Premji's suitability for married life.
"After Indhu spoke about their relationship, I saw the interviews given by Premgi and the news about him and thought, 'Is he suitable for marriage? This doesn't seem right to me,'" she confessed. "However, after spending time with him, I discovered that he is a very good person. Premji always shows great respect towards elders and treats my daughter with kindness. When she asks him to do something, he never refuses."
Sharmila's perception of Premji has since evolved, and she now regards him not just as a son-in-law but as a son. This change in sentiment has been complemented by Premji's new venture. In a bid to highlight Sharmila's culinary skills, Premji has launched a company named "Premji Mimis Masala." According to Sharmila, their family operates as a joint family, making daily cooking akin to preparing for a wedding. To maintain the quality of their food, they avoid purchasing masalas from outside sources and instead prepare them at home.
Sharmila elaborated on the rationale behind this new business venture, saying, "My mother-in-law always says that masala is what adds flavour to the food. The masalas we prepare at home give an extra edge to our dishes. When Indhu shared this with Premji, he was encouraged to turn it into a business. This led to the establishment of the company."
Thus, what began as a series of personal and professional challenges for Premji Amaren has culminated in a new chapter, marked by both personal growth and entrepreneurial success.
