Raayan Advance Booking Day 1: Dhanush's highly anticipated second directorial venture, "Raayan," is set to hit theatres tomorrow. The film features a stellar cast, including Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, and S.J. Suryah in pivotal roles.

According to film industry tracker Box Office Tamil, the highly anticipated film "Raayan" has achieved impressive opening day advance sales across various regions. In Tamil Nadu, the advance sales amounted to ₹3.65 crores, while in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/TS), the film garnered ₹90 lakhs. In Karnataka, "Raayan" secured ₹50 lakhs, and in Kerala, the advance sales reached ₹21 lakhs. Overall, the total India gross for the opening day advance sales stands at over ₹5.3 crores, indicating a strong start and high expectations for the film's box office performance.

Initially scheduled for a theatrical release on June 13, 2024, "Raayan" experienced a delay for undisclosed reasons. The film is now slated to premiere globally on July 26, coinciding with the week of Dhanush's birthday.

Raayan Premise

Raayan, a simple young man, embarks on a quest to avenge his family's death, navigating the dangerous world of an organised crime syndicate to track down the murderers.

"Raayan" marks Dhanush's second directorial venture, following his 2017 film "Pa Paandi." In February, Dhanush's brother Selvaraghavan clarified that he did not pen "Raayan" but has a significant role in the film. The movie features an impressive ensemble cast, including Dhanush, S. J. Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Selvaraghavan, with renowned actors like Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Saravanan further strengthening the lineup. This star-studded cast is anticipated to deliver compelling performances, enhancing the film's appeal and raising its anticipation.

The film's music is composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK.

Dhanush's latest release was "Captain Miller" in 2023. He is also set to star in the multilingual project "Kubera," directed by Sekhar Kammula, alongside Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh.
