According to film industry tracker Box Office Tamil, Raayan's advance sales in Tamil Nadu are off to an excellent start. The opening day advance sales have already crossed ₹50 lakhs, showcasing strong anticipation and excitement for the film among audiences. This impressive pre-release performance indicates a promising opening day at the box office for Raayan.

Initially set for a theatrical release on June 13, 2024, "Raayan" was postponed for unspecified reasons. The film is now scheduled to debut worldwide on July 26, coinciding with the week of Dhanush's birthday.

Raayan, a simple young man, embarks on a quest to avenge his family's death, leading him through the dangerous world of an organised crime syndicate in search of the killers.

"Raayan" marks Dhanush's second directorial venture, following his 2017 film "Pa Paandi." In February, Dhanush's brother Selvaraghavan clarified that he did not write "Raayan" but plays a significant role in the project. The film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Dhanush, S. J. Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Selvaraghavan. Renowned actors Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Saravanan also strengthen the cast.
