Raayan Synopsis
In the 1990s, Kathavaraayan "Raayan" takes on the role of protector for his younger siblings after their parents vanish, moving them to North Chennai. Years later, Raayan operates a fast-food restaurant while his siblings face their own struggles. When his brother Muthu becomes involved in a bar fight that results in the death of a gangster's son, Raayan and his family find themselves caught in a dangerous web of deception, betrayal, and revenge, orchestrated by a newly appointed police commissioner. They must navigate these treacherous situations to secure their survival.

The film features a diverse ensemble led by Dhanush as Kathavaraayan "Raayan," with Rakul playing the younger Raayan. Prakash Raj portrays Commissioner Sargunam, while S.J. Suryah stars as Sethuraman "Sethu." Selvaraghavan appears as Sekhar, a father figure to Raayan, and Sundeep Kishan plays Muthuvelraayan "Muthu," Raayan's younger brother, with Avanish as young Muthu. Dushara Vijayan is cast as Durga, Raayan's younger sister, with Dharsikha as young Durga. The film's soundtrack, composed by A. R. Rahman, includes singles such as "Adangaatha Asuran" (released May 9, 2024), "Water Packet" (May 24), and "Raayan Rumble" (July 5). The full album debuted on July 6, 2024, at Sriram Engineering College in Chennai. Directed and written by Dhanush, the film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, with cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK.
