Raayan OTT Release Date and Platform: Dhanush's highly anticipated second directorial, Raayan, had its global theatrical release on July 26, 2024. The film features a standout cast, including Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, and S.J. Suryah in key roles, with Dhanush taking on the leading role.

Prime Video has recently announced that Raayan will have its global streaming premiere on August 23. The film will be available on Prime Video in Tamil, with dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada for India, and across 240 countries and territories worldwide, starting August 23.

Raayan Synopsis

In the 1990s, Kathavaraayan "Raayan" becomes the guardian of his younger siblings after their parents disappear, relocating them to North Chennai. Years later, Raayan runs a fast-food restaurant while his siblings deal with their own challenges. When his brother Muthu gets into a bar fight that leads to the death of a gangster's son, Raayan and his family are drawn into a treacherous web of deception, betrayal, and revenge orchestrated by a newly appointed police commissioner. They must navigate these dangerous circumstances to secure their safety.

Raayan Cast and Crew

The film features a distinguished cast led by Dhanush as Kathavaraayan "Raayan," with Rakul portraying the younger Raayan. Prakash Raj plays Commissioner Sargunam, while S.J. Suryah takes on the role of Sethuraman "Sethu." Selvaraghavan appears as Sekhar, Raayan's father figure, and Sundeep Kishan stars as Muthuvelraayan "Muthu," Raayan's younger brother, with Avanish as young Muthu. Dushara Vijayan plays Durga, Raayan's younger sister, with Dharsikha as young Durga. Kalidas Jayaram is cast as Manickavelraayan "Manickam," another of Raayan's younger brothers, with Dhanush Karthik as young Manickam. Aparna Balamurali stars as Megala, Muthu's wife, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has a cameo as Sethu's first wife. Supporting roles include Saravanan as Durai, Dileepan as Sethu's henchman, Ilavarasu as Megala's father, Divya Pillai as Annam Sethuraman, Dr. Karthik Anjaneyan, Devadarshini as a nurse, Namo Narayanan as a land shark, Cell Murugan as a restaurant worker, and Kathir B. The soundtrack, composed by A. R. Rahman, includes singles such as "Adangaatha Asuran" (May 9, 2024), "Water Packet" (May 24), and "Raayan Rumble" (July 5). The complete album was launched on July 6, 2024, at Sriram Engineering College in Chennai. Directed and written by Dhanush, the film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, with cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK.
