According to box office tracker Box Office Tamil, the movie "Raayan" has been performing exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu. On its fifth day, the film grossed an impressive ₹3.5 crores, bringing its total gross to ₹43 crores in just five days. This remarkable performance underscores the movie's strong appeal and popularity among audiences.

Raayan Synopsis

In the 1990s, Kathavaraayan "Raayan" assumes the responsibility of raising his younger siblings after their parents disappear, relocating them to North Chennai. Years later, Raayan runs a fast-food hotel, while his siblings encounter their own struggles. When a bar altercation involving his brother Muthu results in the death of a gangster's son, Raayan and his family become ensnared in a web of deception, betrayal, and revenge led by a new police commissioner. The family must navigate this perilous situation to survive.

Raayan Cast and Crew

The movie features an extensive cast led by Dhanush as Kathavaraayan "Raayan," with Rakul playing the young Raayan. Prakash Raj stars as Commissioner Sargunam, while S. J. Suryah takes on the role of Sethuraman "Sethu." Selvaraghavan appears as Sekhar, Raayan's father figure, and Sundeep Kishan portrays Muthuvelraayan "Muthu," Raayan's younger brother, with Avanish playing the younger Muthu. Dushara Vijayan is cast as Durga, Raayan's younger sister, with Dharsikha as the young Durga. Kalidas Jayaram plays Manickavelraayan "Manickam," Raayan's younger brother, and Dhanush Karthik depicts the younger Manickam. Aparna Balamurali stars as Megala, Muthu's wife, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar makes a cameo appearance as Sethu's first wife. The cast also includes Saravanan as Durai, Dileepan as Sethu's henchman, Ilavarasu as Megala's father, Divya Pillai as Annam Sethuraman, Dr. Karthik Anjaneyan, Devadarshini as a nurse, Namo Narayanan as a land shark, Cell Murugan as a restaurant worker, Kathir B. The film's soundtrack, composed by A. R. Rahman, includes singles such as "Adangaatha Asuran," released on May 9, 2024; "Water Packet," on May 24; and "Raayan Rumble," on July 5. The complete album was officially launched on July 6, 2024, at Sriram Engineering College in Chennai. Directed and written by Dhanush, the film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. Cinematography was handled by Om Prakash, and Prasanna GK managed the editing.
