As film opportunities dwindled, Shakeela underwent a notable transformation when she participated in the cooking show "Cook with Komali." This shift in focus from the silver screen to the kitchen not only showcased her culinary skills but also humanised her public image, challenging the perception of her as a former adult film actress.

However, recent events have thrust Shakeela back into the spotlight, this time for personal reasons. Sheethal, raised as Shakeela's foster daughter, finds herself at the centre of a controversy. Recently, Shakeela accused Sheethal of attacking her at their Chennai residence, prompting Shakeela to file a complaint with the Kodambakkam police. In her formal complaint, Shakeela, accompanied by her lawyer, Soundarya, detailed injuries sustained during the altercation with Sheethal, who happens to be Shakeela's brother's daughter.

Sheethal, in response, shared her side of the story with the media, claiming she was driven to retaliate after allegedly being physically assaulted. She narrated events from fifteen days ago, when a disagreement led to her leaving Shakeela's house. However, persistent calls, including communication through a helper, compelled Sheethal to return.

Upon her return, Sheethal alleges that Shakeela verbally abused her, especially targeting her mother and her family. She recounted a night where Shakeela was allegedly intoxicated, leading to a heated exchange. An attempt at peaceful resolution, initiated by an aunt, escalated into further verbal abuse.

According to Sheethal, the confrontation turned physical, involving scratching and hitting, with Shakeela's friends, including an advocate, entering the scene. Sheethal claimed that, under duress, she was pressured to apologise to Shakeela, threatening police involvement and possible remand if she refused.

Sheethal's narrative also alludes to Shakeela's alleged drinking habits and a pattern of confrontations. In an interview with the media, Sheethal asserted that her actions were driven by a perceived lack of alternative means to escape the situation.
