Thangalaan OTT Release: "Thangalaan," directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, Neelam Productions, and Jio Studios, is a Tamil action-adventure film. The movie features Vikram in the lead role, with a supporting cast that includes Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, and Sampath Ram. Set during the British Raj, the story revolves around a formidable tribal leader who, while assisting a British general in the search for gold in his village, encounters the wrath of a powerful sorceress.

Initially announced in December 2021 with the working title "Chiyaan 61" to celebrate Vikram's 61st lead role, the film was officially renamed "Thangalaan" in October 2022. Production commenced later that month, with filming occurring in Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Madurai, and Karnataka, and concluded in early July 2023. The soundtrack is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while A. Kishor Kumar handled the cinematography and Selva RK managed the editing.

"Thangalaan" premiered globally in theaters on August 15, 2024, aligning with India's Independence Day, and was offered in both standard and 3D formats. Netflix has acquired the film's digital streaming rights for ₹35 crore. According to recent reports, the film is scheduled for its grand OTT release on Netflix on September 20, 2024, a little over 35 days after its theatrical debut.

Set during the British Raj, "Thangalaan" tells the story of a strong tribal leader and his community who aid Lord Clement, a British general, in his quest for gold in their village. Their support incites the wrath of Aarathi, a formidable sorceress, compelling Thangalaan to confront her with all his strength.
