Thug Life Team Clarifies: Joju George’s Injury Unrelated To Filming Action Scenes With Kamal Haasan

Joju George s Injury Not From Filming Action Scenes

Actor Joju George's Leg Injury: Recent reports have brought attention to actor Joju George's leg injury while filming the much-anticipated gangster drama "Thug Life," directed by Mani Ratnam.

Initial rumours suggested that Joju George sustained his injury during an intense action sequence for the film. A viral photo showing the actor using a walking stick with a cast on his left leg further fueled these speculations, leading many to believe the injury occurred during a high-stakes stunt scene.

The photograph of Joju George, visibly in discomfort, quickly spread across social media, igniting concern among his fans and followers. According to these early reports, medical professionals have advised Joju George to take several days off to recuperate from his injury.

However, according to a report by E Times, the production team of "Thug Life" clarified the circumstances surrounding the incident. Contrary to the initial reports, the crew confirmed that Joju George's injury did not occur during the filming of any action sequences. Siva Ananth, one of the film's producers, elaborated on the situation, explaining that while Joju George did indeed suffer a leg sprain, it was not due to an on-set accident during an action scene.

"Joju has been remarkable throughout this situation. He managed to complete his scenes despite the injury, which did not result from any action sequence," Ananth told E Times. "He completed the filming schedule while enduring significant pain, showing incredible dedication. We are extremely grateful for his commitment and professionalism."

Supporting Ananth's statement, the film's stunt choreographers, Anbariv, also confirmed that the injury was unrelated to any of the planned stunts or action scenes. This assurance helped dispel the notion that the film's high-octane sequences had caused the incident.

Reports had surfaced a day earlier suggesting that Joju George was injured while shooting an intricate helicopter scene with co-stars Kamal Haasan and Nassar in Pondicherry, leading to a temporary halt in the filming. This speculation has now been addressed by the film's crew, who emphasised that filming was carried out safely and without any incidents during those scenes.

Star-Studded Cast and Crew Behind 'Thug Life'

Joju George's role in "Thug Life" is crucial, as he joins an ensemble cast that includes industry giants like Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Nassar, and Malayalam star Aishwarya Lekshmi. Directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal Haasan, "Thug Life" marks a significant reunion for the director and Haasan after their celebrated collaboration in "Nayakan" (1987).

The film, with its impressive cast, also features Sanya Malhotra, Ashok Selvan, Ali Fazal, and Pankaj Tripathi. With Ravi K. Chandran handling cinematography, A. Sreekar Prasad as the editor, and music by A. R. Rahman, "Thug Life" is set to be a major release. The action direction is being choreographed by Anbariv, adding to the film's promise of thrilling sequences. "Thug Life" is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies.
