Set to release worldwide on October 10, 2024, coinciding with Vijayadashami, the film features legendary actor Rajinikanth in the titular role, marking a significant milestone as his 170th film as a lead actor. Notably, Vettaiyan also marks the Tamil film debut of Amitabh Bachchan, making this project a major highlight in the industry.

Vettaiyan Generates Buzz Over Cast Remuneration Ahead of Release

Reports from Koimoi shed light on the hefty paychecks that the film's stars are reportedly commanding. Rajinikanth is said to have received between₹100 and ₹125 crore for his role as SP Ajith IPS, a figure that not only cements his status as one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema but also reflects the immense anticipation surrounding the film. The collaboration of two of Indian cinema's biggest icons-Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan-has fans buzzing, especially since it is the first time in 33 years that they will share the screen again. Amitabh Bachchan's remuneration for his role as Sathyadev, an officer opposing encounter killings, is reported to be ₹7 crore.

Fahadh Faasil, known for his powerful performances in films like Pushpa, Maamannan, and Aavesham, plays the character of Patrick, a conman, and is expected to earn between ₹2 to ₹4 crore. Rana Daggubati, another heavyweight in the industry, is set to receive₹5 crore for his role, contributing to the film's ensemble cast that also includes Manju Warrier, whose remuneration ranges from₹2.5 crore to₹3 crore.
