Vettaiyan OTT Platform: Where Will Rajinikanth's Film Stream After Its Theatrical Run?

Vettaiyan OTT Platform: "Vettaiyan," a Tamil action drama, is directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the Lyca Productions banner. Starring Rajinikanth in the lead, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami, and Ramesh Thilak. This marks Lyca Productions' 30th venture and Bachchan's debut in Tamil cinema. "Vettaiyan" hit theaters globally on October 10, 2024, aligned with the Vijayadasami festival.

Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for Vettaiyan. The film will be available on the platform after its theatrical run concludes. However, the official OTT release date will be announced by the makers in a few weeks or within a month.

The film was officially announced in March 2023 under the working title Thalaivar 170, signifying Rajinikanth's 170th lead role. The official title was unveiled in December 2023. Principal photography commenced in October 2023 and wrapped up in August 2024, with shooting locations including Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while S. R. Kathir handled the cinematography and Philomin Raj took care of the editing.
