Irumbu Kuthirai is an Tamil action - sports movie directed by Yuvaraj Bose and produced by AGS Entertainment. The film features Adharvaa and Priya Anand in the lead roles while Lakshmi Rai, Joshna and Johnny Tri Nguyen appear in supporting roles.

AGS Entertainment announced that they were simultaneously producing six films in March 2013 and revealed one of those would be a "racy action script" featuring Atharvaa to be directed by newcomer Yuvraj Bose. Priya Anand was signed on to feature in the film in August 2013, while Lakshmi Rai and Johnny Tri Nguyen, previously seen in AR Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu, were selected to portray other roles.

In November 2013 it was reported that Lakshmi Rai was out of the project, and a relative newcomer Joshna was roped in who shot for some sequences and a song with the cast in the Italy schedule. In a turn of events, Lakshmi Rai began filming for the project again in March 2014. Akshara Gowda shot for a dance number in the film.

After creating a unique place for himself with Paradesi, Atharvaa is back with Irumbu Kuthirai, directed by first timer Yuvaraj Bose.

Atharvaa looks handsome, his physique and intensity are admirable. But the movie lets him down, one must say. Devadarshini being cast as Atharvaa's mother is an interesting choice and she performs with her typical spirit.

Verdict: In all, the film's final moments are the little consolations the viewer gets.

Firstly a good round of applause for Yuvaraj for choosing a concept that trots around bikes, something never explored. And that’s about it, the movie should have ideally pulled bike lovers into the screens for the trailers screamed with zest and style, however the director misses to deliver the best out of the ingredients.

Yuvaraj’s choice of story is a winner even though the execution has gone haywire. With a proper motive and the essential glue of screenplay the movie could have gone heights.

Irumbu Kuthirai is a shining example of cinema that dares to be different, of going against the set norms, of defying the rigid set of laws of Kollywood formulaic films.

Life changes drastically for Atharva a meek pizza delivery boy after he meets Priya Anand. Soon, they become good friends and our dull boy transforms into a “man on mission”.

Verdict: Debonair attempt gone awry!
