Kutrame Thandanai is a Tamil drama movie direction by Kaaka Muttai fame director Manikandan. The movie has Vidharth, Aishwarya Rajesh, Pooja Devariya and Nassar in important roles. Mastro Ilayaraja composes music for this movie.

Kutrame Thandanai is the story of a mild-mannered collections agent in desperate need of money. The man is slowly going blind and cannot afford the surgery to fix his eyes.

He debates whether needs define morality and whether it is fine to co-opt with corruption by staying silent when he discovers the dead body of his young, female neighbour. When he witnesses a young woman’s murder, the killers offer him a large sum of money to remain quiet.

The movie had its Indian premiere last year at the Mumbai Film Festival. KR Films has secured the worldwide rights.

First look poster of Kutrame Thandanai was released by Vijay Sethupathi on Feb 28th, 2016.

Manikandan's debut film, Kaaka Muttai, won a National Award under best children film category. The film follows the story of two slum children and their desire to eat a pizza. Kaaka Muttai also turned out to be the first Tamil film to premiere at Toronto Film festival.
