The movie promotes vegetarianism. The opening note of the movie says that the film is dedicated to vegans. So, one could easily expect Saivam to have a message on it and the director conveys it without any exaggeration.
Saivam throws light on our family value system and also tells us the importance of being compassionate and having empathy for others.
Verdict: Saivam is a clean and well-made family entertainer. It won't be an exaggeration if we can the flick as the best movie of Vijay till date.
Director Vijay has proven his mettle in almost all genres of scripts. He has done a mass hero flick, a breezy romance, a thriller, an emotional saga and a comic entertainer. In his latest film 'Saivam' which is also his father A.L.Azhagappan's production venture the director has gone back to our traditional roots and tried to highlight the beauty and importance of family relationships.
Kathiresan (Nasser) is a respectable person living in Kottaiyur Village. He stays rooted in the village since he does not want to depart from traditional life style and farming. One of his sons, along with his wife and daughter Tamilselvi (Baby Sara) accompanies his parents in the village.
Verdict: A feel good film that makes you feel good for most parts.
Very rarely there comes a film that enriches family values and brings us closer, it is so humble in its way of storytelling that even the little things we almost forget about living together as a family we instantly start to miss. In its entire innocence director Vijay’s Saivam is one such film.
This film is definitely one of director Vijay’s best. There is a lot of soul in the film and so many beautiful moments to compliment it. It awakens memories of our summer visits to our grandparent’s house.
Verdict: Overall this film will leave you reminiscing and get you back to your roots. This warm and closely knitted family entertainer is definitely a must watch!
