Sakalakala Vallavan Appatakkar Story

Sakalakala Vallavan (aka) Appatakkar is a Tamil romance comedy movie written and directed by Suraj. The movie features Jayam Ravi, Trisha and Anjali in the leading roles, this is going to be Trisha's 50th movie as well, in which Trisha to act with Jayam Ravi for the third time, while S. Thaman composes the film's music. 

Story

Sakalakala Vallavan is a rom-com story. Sakthi (Jayam Ravi) and 'Chinnabuththi' Chinnasamy (Soori) are relatives cum foes who come around as  Tom & Jerry in a village in Thenkasi district. Sakthi falls for Chinnasamy's 'mora ponnu' Selvi (Anjali) and the love becomes mutual. Chinnasamy in turn falls for Sakthi's 'mora ponnu' Divya (Trisha) who is going to get married to someoneelse in a week.

Divya's marriage gets called off at the last moment and Sakthi who would never cross his father's (Prabhu) line ties the nuptial know around Divya. They start their life in Chennai and things do not work out.

Divya is basically from the city side and Jayam Ravi from the village, both feels uncomfortable in their marriage life. Divya seeks divorce from Sakthi within a month after their marriage, who in turn promises to give his consent for divorce if the former lives with his family in their village for one month. Divya accepts the deal and moves to his village, the rest of the story leads to the climax with fun screenplay.

Production

The film was launched in early June 2014 as a collaboration between director Suraj and producers Lakshmi Movie Makers with Jayam Ravi signed on to play the leading role. Actress Anjali was signed on to play a supporting role in July 2014, marking her comeback after a hiatus from Tamil films. The team began shoot in Chennai in July 2014, before moving on to Pondicherry.

Trisha joined the cast in August 2014 to play the female lead, after the team opted against signing Kajal Aggarwal, who had asked for a high remuneration. Catherine Tresa was also considered but not selected for the role. Poorna does a cameo role in this flick.

Vivek has a role in the film for which he shaved his head. D. Imman has rendered his voice for a song. In July 2015, title of the film was changed from Appa Takkaru to Sakalakala Vallavan Appatakkar. The satellite rights of the film were sold to Sun TV.
