Shiva is in top form and he nails it with his performance. He looks convincing in each spoofing moment that he appears and keeps you entertained with the interesting one-liners. Sathish's performance is one of the major highlights of the movie and he gets to play a role with a record number of get-ups. Tamizh Padam 2 is a rollicking entertainer, which is a must-watch for a Tamil movie buff and it harmlessly spoofs a whole lot of movies from various genres. Well, spoofing is indeed an art & with Tamizh Padam, CS Amudhan & team have proved that they are masters in it.
Behindwoods
The political references of Sasikala, OPS, H.Raja, and the Koovathur resort episode connects big time among the audience. The film would mostly fulfill the expectations of a common man, who would just want to laugh out loud. The logical loopholes do not seem to be a complaint, as the main focus and intention of the film is to be farcical and funny. Verdict: Tamizh Padam 3, “I am Waiting”!
The News Minute
The film revolves and rests on the shoulders of an able Shiva, whose very presence on screen brings a smile to the faces in the audience. Everyone is laughing even before he gets to the end of the joke because his deadpan expressions are so in contrast with the wild statements written out for him. The villain Satish by his own admission, doesn't act in the film. It is the costume department that has been burdened with this character, whose look changes to represent a different mainstream villain every time he appears on the screen. Well, if it doesn't, at least there will be a Tamizh Padam 3 to look forward to.
