CM to release audio of <i>Periyar</i>

As if for a blockbuster film, there is great expectation for Periyar. The shooting has taken place in various locales including Russia. The last schedule is taking place at Kerala.

The audio release of Periyar will take place on Dec 23. And it will be released by none other than the chief minister whose office sanctioned 95 lakhs for the making of the film!

The film is directed by Gnanarajasekharan. The film stars Sathyaraj as Periyar, Khushboo as Maniyammai, Jyotirmayi as the first wife Nagammai and director SS Stanley as Anna.

It should be recalled that Ilayaraja had refused to compose music for the film since Periyar was an atheist. That's why the Periyar unit is determined that the songs of Periyar should somehow be a notch above Ilayaraja's songs for Bharathi.

Chief Minister M Karunaidhi, President of Producers Association Ramanarayanan and K Veeramani will participate in the audio release function.
