After the demise of tinsel world baron S.S. Vaasan, the Boss of Tamil cinema, his Gemini Films stopped making movies for nearly three decades. A few years back, the legendary production house re-entered the industry and is now producing successful teleserials like 'Kolangal' on behalf of its Vikatan Televistas (A sister concern of Ananda Vikatan).

After a long interval, Vikatan has decided to venture into film production once again. Their first film is to be directed by Saravanan, a onetime assistant of Bala. The music of the film will be scored by singer Anuradha Sriram who had given some good numbers in the film 'Five Star' along with her husband Sriram. Sources say that the production house has decided to sign up mostly with newcomers for the film.

In another project, Arya will play the lead role which will be directed by a debutant Rajesh, an assistant of veteran director S.A.Chandrasekar.
