Censor Boards rejects scene

Yesterday,
the
CM
Karunanidhi
awarded
Sathyaraj
with
the
Periyar
Award.
Till
his
last
breath,
Periyar
was
a
devout
atheist.
There
have
been
instances
when
Periyar
broke
Pillayar
idols
to
establish
his
atheist
beliefs.
Being a follower of Periyar, Sathyaraj has done the same thing - but in the film!
In the film Adaavadi, he comes out of a mental hospital. He goes to a Pillayar temple and says, "You are cruel to the good people but save the evil ones. That's why people throw you in the sea." He then takes the idol and throws it into a well. He then sits in Pillayar's place and declares that he's god.
The Censor Board raised objection to this scene and said it would issue the certificate only if this scene was removed. So director Bharath Hanna sent it to another Censor Board. When this Board also directed that the offensive scene be removed, Hanna had no choice but to edit the scene.
A point to be noted is, Adaavadi is a Kannada film re-make where this scene is very much featured. So, if the Censor Board could clear the Kannada film, why this bias for the Tamil version?
The reply from the Censor Board is, "We also have to consider the environment where this film will be released!"
