Sarath Kumar, the president of South Indian Film Actors Association, has blasted the Film Chamber functionaries for not registering his new film title Azhagiri.

It is said that the Film Chamber and the Tamil Film Producers Council has objected to registering the title in their associations and have advised Sarath to change the title. The reason behind the objection is an open secret; the title is similar to the name of the Chief Minister's son Mu.Ka.Azhagiri. Since Sarath is a DMK party member, there shouldn't be a chance for any quarrel, and even Mu.Ka. Azhagiri might launch the movie. But unfortunately, he is on his way to float a new political party in a couple of weeks.

This movie is a straight remake of Dileep starrer Malayalam movie Lion, produced by Kanagaratna Movies, the makers of Pokkiri. Initially it was titled as Singamla. But later Sarath changed his mind and opted for the controversial title Azhagiri. Anyhow, he has won enough publicity even before the launch of the movie. A smart business move indeed!
