Dhanush is now one of the happiest men with the best careers in Kollywood now . According to him, it is comparable to heavy rain in his "desert-like film career after 3 years of hot sunshine". The success of Thiruvilayadal Arambam has lifted Dhanush again as a saleable hero in the industry. After the serial of flaps Pudukkottayilirundhu Saravanan, Sullan, Devathaiyai Kandein and Dreams, film pundits judged Dhanush as a one-film wonder. After the much talked about but commercial flop Pudupettai, many have lobbying against him. The media has came to their own conclusion that the time of his marriage was "wrong" and so he failed in reaching higher film careerwise.

Super Star Rajinikanth, his father in law, gave him a few tips concerning how to select a good storyline and how to make himself a good actor. He suggested that Dhanush to use any one of his old super hit stories in order to return to his previous form. After a weeklong discussion, Rajini suggested Danush and Director Boopathy pandian to select a Mr.Bharath base for Thiruvilayadal Arambam. Rajini has shown great involvement in every stage of the film. After seen the first copy, he had suggested some corrections in the climax of the flick. When the press premiere shown in Four Frames Theater, Rajini personally called the theater manager Kalyanam to see that things were going well. All has gonewell and the film turned out to be a 'good film' in Box Office in the first week itself. Now the Pongal release movies also didn't affect the collection of Thiruvilayadal.We met Dhanush in his house along with his sweet heart Aishwarya. He started to talk in his much delighted voice. I noticed that there was a bit of relief in his voice.

How do you feel now, after the stupendous success of Thiruvilayadal?
It is an unforgettable movie for me and my family. After the debut of my son Yathra, Thiruvilayadal was released. I felt that my son has come with all the success and prosperity of his father. And it is a great relief to an artist like me- after 4 failures. But those failures helped me a lot to learn about the real face of this 'reel world'.

The base of the story is looks like Mr.Bharath ...
May be... I had seen that film many times. It was Rajini who keeps the tempo of the film right from the beginning. . But it is a classic commercial hit compare with my version. Please tell me an actor in these days with out the influence of The Super Star. Yes. Mr.Bharath was the inspiration to make that film. But we have shown the variation in the making and in the screenplay.

Did Rajini suggested anything to you in story selection and acting...
Though Rajini is my father in-law, I never called him as Mama or uncle... I still call him 'Sir'. Many a time, my wife has told me to call him 'Uncle'. But for me, it is difficult because I have great respect on him. Apart from all my relationship with him, I see him as an icon for young actor's. He and made so many suggestions and has given me so many tips to take my film career forward. Before starting Thiruvilayadal, he advised me to careful in my characterization so that I would not avert woman viewers. In the future, I will concentrate more on subjects which attract the children!

Tell me about your next film...
It is Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram. It is being directed by Raju Sundaram and is being produced by Keyar. Meera Jasmine is playing the lead role opposite me. The shooting for this film has almost come to an end. Archana, the legendary national award winner, is acting as my mother in this film. In fron of actors like her performance, actors like me are nothing. I learnt a lot from her.

There was a gossip about Meera's part in this film..
Peopleare always talking about some thing or the other. One day it is about me...on another day Meera and tomorrow it will be somebody else. One can go crazy if he continuously bothers about this kind of gossip. Since they are the industrys biggest 'investors', let them to talk as they wish. But I never bother about these things. Now Meera is acting in this film as a heroine with out any "friction or itching". This is the right answer to those rumours.

Now about the 'title' war between you and Simbu. Recently both of you told that you are good friends...
I selected Pollathavan from my father in-law's collection of hits. Nowadays, everybody has started to remake his old hits. This time, I suggested this title to Rajini sir. He happily nodded his head. I came to know that more than 20 Rajini's hit film's titles had registered in film chamber. I don't know anything about the title announced by Simbu.

Would you like to act with your Father in-law?
Definitely not sir. Because a Rajini film always based on Rajini sir only. Actors like me, would never shine before him. He is like a sun. We are like stars. That's all.

Your brother Selvaragavan is a good creator. How about your creativity?
Selva is an excellent narrator. He set a new trend through his style of filmmaking. At the same time, I know his sincerity in weaving a screenplay. For me, acting is easy. I never have thought about film making. But in future, there may be a possibility.

Who is your mentor in Tamil film world?
Like others, Rajini sir is my mentor. I do like actors including Kamal and Vikram.

What about the plans to do a film under your brother's own production company?
Yes... That plan hasn't been dropped. I will do a film for my brother Selva's White Elephant film making unit. Cameraman Arvind Krishna will direct this film. Yuvan Shankar Raja not only composing music for this film - he is one of the partner of the unit. This film may be set a new trend in the new generation filmmaking.

What is your dream character?
Any character suitable to my physique and age is a dream character for me.
