Film Shows and shootings cancelled for 12 hours

The Tamil Nadu Exhibitors Association and Tamil Film Producers council have announced that they will cancel 2 shows today as a sign of their support for the bandh against the reservation verdict by the Supreme Court . All the shootings and other activities have also been cancelled for half the day. According to a statement released by Rama Narayanan, President of Tamil Film Producers council and KRG, President of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, all the associations and various Unions in the Industry has unanimously taken this decision to show their support for the rejection of the recent verdict of the Apex Court to lift 27% reservation for Backward Class people in Education and Employment.
Rama Narayanan said: 'This is not a usual kind of co-operation that is given to the government during such a hartal. We will show our heartful solidarity to the government for this issue right from this moment on. Noon shows and Matinee shows will cancel in all the theaters. Shootings also have been cancelled from 6 am to 6 pm.' Panneer Selvam, President, Tamil Nadu Exhibitors Association and Abirami Ramanathan, President, Chennai Theater Owners President also signed the statement.
