Most of the Tamil satellite Channels are reliant on the tear jerking serials and cinema based programmes to maintain their TRP ratings. But Star Vijay is searching for innovative programmes apart from these to broadcast on the small screen. As a part of this effort, Vijay TV's 'Ippadikku Rose' will be hosted by Rose, a transsexual. This will be the first show to be hosted by a transsexual on any Indian Television channel. This is also an attempt to change the society's view of transsexuals. Rose is a double engineering degree holder and has been in the US for quite sometime.

The programme aims at breaking all taboos in society associated with this aggrieved class. Rose's said about the show: "There is a great misconception about transgender in this society. Even they have dreams and aspirations like anyone else. I believe that this show will definitely change the way society looks our community. Media is a responsible medium through which we can reach the masses and Vijay TV will act as the platform for us to connect to the people. I believe that my education and experiences abroad among others will stand me in good stead in presenting this show successfully."
