Thanu and his new friendship with Sun TV!

The big news in Kollywood is that Sun TV has shaken hands with its bitter foe producer Kalaipuli S.Thanu!

Sun TV had telecast the grand launch of Thanu's Kandasamy live, which raised the eyebrows of many film personalities and politicians. Now the producer has sold the channel rights of the movie also to Sun network. He also signed an agreement which paved the way to the channel to get the rights of all his forthcoming projects till the end of year 2008.

At one time Thanu was Kalanidhi Maran's most trusted man, till Aalavanthan went terribly wrong. More concrete reason for the fall out was when Thanu became a big supporter of Vaiko and his MDMK. This was good enough reason for Sun TV to blacklist all Thanu films! Sachin, Chennai Kathal, and Thirumahan clippings, songs, or scenes were not shown on the channel, and Thanu went for a tie-up with the then arch-rival Jaya TV.

When asked about this, Thanu was not willing to talk about it in detail. He told, "There are no permanent friends or enemies in Kollywood, there are only permanent interests of the industry!"
