Karthika chosen for Naan Kadavul

Karthika will play the female lead role in Baala's Naan Kadavul. The search for the films heroine ended with Karthika, who became famous after being seen in the Karuvappaiya song in Thoothukudi. The female lead role in the film was initially to be played by Bhavan. But she was not able to convince the director and was dropped.

The director tried Meenakshi of Karuppusamy Kuthagaitharar fame and another Malayalam actress, Parvati, but he eventually settled for Karthika. The director has decided to continue the shooting of the film July 25th onwards. The actress has apparently given the director her full call sheet to adjust dates, as he would like to.
