Manobala,
the
director
known
for
his
blockbusters
like
the
one
Rajini
starrer
Oorkaavalan
will
be
wielding
the
megaphone
once
again
after
a
long
interval.
The
former
assistant
of
ace
director
Bharathiraaja
was
known
for
his
low-budget,
family
oriented
movies
in
the
late
eighties.
His
films
Sirai
Paravai,
En
Purushanthan
Enakku
Mattumthan,
Pillai
Nila
speak
for
themselves
about
his
directorial
skills.
But
after
two
of
his
film
flopped,
Manobala
restricted
himself
to
the
small
screen
and
acting.
Nowadays
he
appears
in
cameo
roles
in
many
films.
But
at
the
same
time,
he
is
seriously
contemplating
a
comeback
to
his
forte,direction.
For
a
while,
he
dabbled
in
politics
also,
and
campaigned
for
the
AIADMK
at
the
time
of
the
assembly
polls.
But
his
campaigning
went
in
vain
as
the
AIADMK
lost
the
election,
making
a
caricature
of
this
talented
director.
Now
he
wants
to
use
the
remake
formula
to
stage
a
comeback.
The
Madurai
based
creator
said:
"Basically
I'm
a
director
and
technician.
I
never
forget
that.
But
acting
gives
me
pleasure.
I
never
bother
about
kind
of
roles
offered
to
me
or
the
number
of
films
that
I
do.
Since
I'm
not
a
star
tagged
with
a
particular
image,
I
enjoy
doing
all
kinds
of
roles.
Now
I'm
planning
to
direct
a
film.
It
will
be
a
full
length
comedy
movie
and
will
be
a
remake
of
an
earlier
movie.
A
few
years
ago,
I
got
the
remake
rights
of
Kadhalikka
Neramillai
from
Chitralaya.
It
will
be
my
comeback
to
the
foray
of
film
direction..."
At
present,
the
director
is
very
busy
with
the
selection
of
suitable
artists
for
the
remake
of
this
classic
comedy
originally
made
by
veteran
Sridhar.
