Two films with same story compete simultaneously!

Two big action oriented films based on the same story are releasing this Friday! Dileep starrer Malayalam film 'Lion' was a big hit in Kerala. Impressed by the script of the film, Sharath Kumar purchased the Tamil rights of the film and remade the same with the title of 'Nam Naadu' under the direction of Suresh.

But one year before Sharath Kumar purchased the Tamil rights, Telugu star Dr.Rajasekar got the Telugu rights of the same film and remade it in the name of Evadaithe Nakenti and this was also a big hit in Andhra. Now he is releasing the dubbed version of the same in Tamil as Udambu Eppadi Irukku with some new portions which were reshot to create a Tamil flavor to the film in Jeevitha's direction.

Now both the films will be released on a same day, 21 st September, all over the state. Rajasekar's claim is that he has purchased the remake rights for Telugu and Tamil from Malayalam producers of Lion. But later they also sold the Tamil rights to Kanakaratna Movies, the producers of Pokkiri, who have now made the film Nam Naadu.

It seems that there is a competition on to brief the press about the screening of the film. The Udambu Eppadi Irukku producer arranged the press show today at Four Frames while the producer of Nam Naadu has arranged for a press screening at the same venue tomorrow!
