Pirivom Sandhippom... this title had already reached its peak in the shape of a novel by veteran writer Sujatha. Now director Karu Pazhniappan will use this title for his next film with Cheran.
After Solla Marantha Kathai, this is the second movie in which Cheran will limit himself to within the boundary of acting. Kamlini Mukherji will play the lead role against Cheran and Vidhyasaagar will handle the music department. A.Subaskaran will be producing the film on behalf of his Gnanam films P ltd.
Karu Pazhaniyappan is taking up this project after Sivappathikaram, a flat runner of Vishal. Karu's debut film was Parthiban Kanavu, in which Srikanth - Sneha starred as pairs. After this film, Karu started another film with Srikkanth in the name of Sadhurangam. But the film rolls are still lying in the cans without getting released.
Sivappathikaram came as a speed breaker for Vishal after his consecutive hits like Chellame, Sandakozhi and Thimiru. Now Karu Pazhaniappan also realizes his film graph. He vows to make the movie a commercial success this time, without compromising much with his screenplay.
I met the Director on Wednesday after the pooja of Pirivom Sandhippom. Here are the excerpts from the interview:
'Yes...what you guess is correct about the title. Like many of others, I too have been impressed by this novel. But my story is entirely different from that of the writer. It is a love story based on a true incident. Cheran is the only actor who suits this story. Every youth will understand the language of love when they see the film. 'Come, fall in love and feel the difference' - it is my appeal to the viewers of Tamil cinema.
Many criticized for my previous movie Sivappathikaram. I found nothing wrong in the film. In fact the movie did well in B and C centers also. If you plan to ask anything about the unreleased Sathurangam, I do not have the answer...'
