Bharathiraja released story collection

The short story collection of Chandra, wife of journalist turned PRO VK Sundar and assistant of director Amir was released by director Bharathiraja in a function held in T Nagar in Chennai last week. Chandra has worked with Aamir in his Blockbusters Ram and Paruthi Veeran.

Though she is working in the media, her thirst for literature never fades. With the moral support of her husband Sundar, she has written many stories and poetry in the past. Now she has released her compilation of short stories titled Poonaigal Illatha Veedu A home without cats.

Directors Bharathiraja, Amir, Karu Pazhaniyappan, writer Charu Niveditha, lyricist Na Muthukumar, among others, spoke on the occasion. Charu Niveditha said, "This is the first book in Tamil I have read after a long time and the work and writing style of Chandra is commendable!"

Manushya puthiran, a renowned writer in the literary circle has published this book behalf of his publication house Uyirmai. It is worth recalling that Chandra had received the second prize in a contest for woman writers, conducted by Kalachuvadu Trust during the centenary of renowned writer Puthumai Pithan. The award was given by the then president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in a literary conference held by Kalachuvadu in Coimbatore during 2006 December.
