Preethi wants her parents penalized

Finally the solution to the 2 month old Preethi Varma episode was found yesterday in the Chennai Metropolitan Court. The Chief Magistrate Boothanathan ordered the police to provide enough security to the actress from her parents and take action against them on the basis of her complaint.

It was nearly 2 months ago that the actress Preethi Varma disappeared from a Telugu shooting spot at Rajamundhiri. Her parents Ramya and Bharath Kanna had filed a complaint in K.K.Nagar police station to find her. But there was no clue for the police in trying to nab her. There were many stories being told about her for the past few weeks. Meanwhile, she sent a letter to the Chennai police, informing them about her safe hideout. She had asked if the police was ready to protect her, she might come out from her hideout. At the same time Preethi's parents also kept repeatedly asking the police to find her.

Meanwhile, Preethi Varma submitted an affidavit in the court through her advocates and appealed to the court to take action against her parents.

The magistrate ordered the police to give full protection to Preethi for appearing in the court. The same was conveyed to the actress through her advocates. After 2 days, Preethi arrived in Chennai yesterday by flight after getting the assurance, and appeared in the court along with her advocates. She told the court that she had disappeared by her own desire and nobody had abducted her. She confirmed that she didn't have a love affair with any of the alleged persons namely Arun, Vijay and Mahendiran. According to Preethi, her parent's behavior only forced her to go away from her house. She alleged that they had forced her in to prostitution, against her wish to lead a life with honesty and dignity. To protect herself from their torture only, she had eloped from the shooting spot with the help of her friend Arun. But soon after reaching Mumbai Airport, she deceived Arun also and chose to stay in her close friend's house.

After hearing all these, the Magistrate asked her whether she would like give any oral or written complaint against her parents. She immediately accepted to give oral complaint against her parents and the same has registered by the Magistrate in the open Court. In her complaint, Preethi requested the Magistrate to take severe action against her parents for forcing her into prostitution. But she didn't clarify what kind of a punishment she sought for. She vowed to lead her life on her own without the support or accompaniment of her parents. The Magistrate allowed her to decide about her life in her own way.

After the court proceedings, Preethi Varma left the premises with her lawyers for the hotel. Many time during the proceedings, her parents and grand mother tried to speak to her. But she refused to even see them. Preethi's mother told in tears that was a very big punishment for them to have given birth to her.Now they are moving bail petitions in the same court to avoid their arrest on the basis of Preethi's complaint.

Here is some good news for Preethi Varma alias Preethi Raani, after her painful days. Two Tamil film producers and a Telugu producer have approached her to give advance for acting in their films.

Nowadays Preethi Varma has got more fame than a leading actress in another way. Recently, Thol Thirumavalavan, the politician turned actor also mentioned how her popularity helped in promoting the film Anbuthozhi, in which Preethi acts as Thiruma's heroine. Don't be afraid, there are no duets having both of them. According to the story, Preethi has onesided love for Thiruma. But the latter refuses her love and decides to go to the battle field. Recently, the audio of the film was launched in the presence of Thirumavalavan. He complemented Preethi for her good performance in the film. He told that the recent fame she got through her personal issues also helped in the film's publicity.

Now the producer of the film has approached Preethi for his second venture too. Yesterday he met the actress in a hotel and assured her an offer.

There is one more Tamil producer who has approached Preethi to make a film based on her own story. He has offered a big amount for both the story and her role as heroine. One of the Chennai based Telugu producer has also offered a role to Preethi in his next film, sources said.
