After the warning from Tamil Film Producers' Council President Rama Narayanan to the non-members of Film Artistes' Association that they would not co-operate with them in future, many actors rushed to the association office and requested for application forms to join it.

Rama Narayanan announced yesterday that the council would not co-operate with any non-members of Film Artistes' Association in future. Interestingly, many leading actors like Jeevan, Shreya, Navya Nair, Jyothirmayi, and Sindhu Tolani fall under this category.

The Artistes' Association is a powerful registered body in the South Indian Cinema and it solves all the problems related to the artiste's profession. Most of the artistes approach their Association regarding the payment dues from the producers. Without the co-operation of the Artistes' Association, any other union or association can't do anything in the industry. But most of the new actors never bothered to get its membership. Artistes must pay a lump sum to the Association to become its member. They use this fund to help poor artistes and for other welfare schemes.

The Artistes' Association had recently announced that it wouldn't entertain any artiste who are not members of the Association. After this declaration, the Tamil Film producers Council also announced their non- cooperation to the non member Actors. After these two announcements, many new actors and actresses rushed to the Artistes' Association office at T.Nagar to get the application forms to enroll their names as its member.
