Rajini refuses Ravana's role!

Rajini has refused to play the character role of Ravana in a corporate company's Rs 120 crore mega epic film Ramayana to be produced in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with the launch fixed on 11 January 2008. Though the company has offered the actor his market rate (Rs 25 crores as said by the source).

But the actor categorically declined the offer and said, "I'm still playing the hero's role, and I have no interest in moving over to character roles." Very recently Rajini also said this in a film function. It means clearly the 57-year old Superstar will continue with his unique formula mass masala movies in Tamil.

He wants to be the first Super hero in Indian cinema, who will never switch over to character roles and probably play the hero till he fades away! Sultan-The Warrior, an animation film using the actors cartoon image with his real voice directed by his daughter Soundarya will hit the screens for Tamil New Year, April 14 th.
