Yesteryear actress Ranjitha to direct

Yesteryear heroine Ranjitha is all set to don the director's role with two films that she plans to direct in Tamil and Hindi. She was a Bharatiraja discovery. She married an Indian Army commander after which she played only mother or elder sister roles in both Tamil and Telugu films.

She said, "I have tried to sign Preity Zinta but she was connived with story of the film. Now I am thinking of doing the film in Tamil with Tamil actors. Some of them have agreed to their participation in the film. Before I go ahead with the film, I want to undergo training with a director who can see my directing capabilities. I approached director Puri Jagannath who immediately allowed me to join his directorial team. "

As of now, she is a assistant to Puri Jagannath. She said that she has written a few scripts, which seem to work well in today's generation
