Sarath sticks on the title Azhagiri

Sarathkumar is firm about the title Azhagiri for his next movie. Though the Tamil Film Producers Council has refused to register the title for some political reasons, Sarath went to the Film Chamber and got the title registered.

Tamanna plays the role of a girl who provides a lot of moral support to the hero in his political rise.

Azhagiri is an action based movie and is a remake of Lion, a Malayalam film which is a political thriller, with Dileep in the lead. It was remade into Telugu by Dr. Rajasekhar as Evadaithey Nakenti, which also turned out to be a hit. The film is being directed by Suresh for the producer of Pokkiri, Ramesh Babu, under his Kanakaratna movies banner.
