Finally actor Prasanth has decided to field his Pulan Visaranai-2 in the Tamil New year race. He told this to the media persons amidst his birthday celebrations yesterday at his newly constructed multi tower shopping mall in T.Nagar.

R.K.Selvamani, the director of the film came to the venue along with his producer A.S.Ibrahim Rowdhar and wished Prasanth on his birthday. Both of them announced that that film will be their birthday gift to Prasanth and they assured us that it will create a new trend in Kollywood. Selvamani, one of the directors responsible for Prasanth's progress in the industry, told us, 'Prasanth is one of the die-hard artists in the industry. Already I have made two films with him. He gave me the satisfaction of working with a fine artist. I kept myself away from film making for a while due to the changing attitudes of present heroes. The first part of Pulan Visaranai was performed by Vijayakanth. I can also make the second part with him. But, many factors have prevented me from approaching him again. And now he is a political leader too. I will have to compromise with so many things for the sake of his political image. At the same time my career also is not placed in a good position at this juncture. These factors have prevented me from film making. But in Prasanth's case, I have never found any changes in his behaviour right from the days of Chembaruthi. This has forced me to make a film with him again.

The story of Pulan Visaranai-2 is something special for the viewers. It is based on a real- life incident which may jolt the entire Tamil population. Lessons from my earlier mistakes in Kutrappathirikai have prompted me to do the screenplay more carefully with necessary legal protections...'

Later Prasanth acknowledged the same and assured the release of the film on April 14th. Earlier, Prashanth visited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi at his residence along with his father Thiagarajan, to seek his blessings.

Actor Prasanth has got a move forward in his career. He is going to act in a historical film based on a story written by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Many years ago, Karunanidhi wrote a historical story about the background of the Kongu ( Coimbatore) kingdom. The story is popularly known as 'Ponnar Sankar' and it won many awards and the best critic laurel for Kalaignar. Few years ago, Doordarshan convert the novel into a teleserial format.

Thiagarajan, father of Prasanth will make this film on the basis of the novel Ponnar Sankar and he has got the positive nod from the Kalaignar himself. On Prasanth's birthday, Kalaignar presented a copy of Ponnar Sankar to him and approved the project. Thiagarajan himself will produce and direct the film. The estimated budget for this film is Rs.15 crores. The formal announcement will come soon.
