S.Ve.Shekher,
the
ace
comedian
both
in
the
world
of
cinema
and
dramatics,
has
set
a
perfect
launch
pad
through
Vegam
for
his
son
Ashwin
to
make
a
debut
in
Tamil
cinema.
Shekher
told
this
correspondent
that
the
film
is
an
action
oriented
family
drama
and
is
slated
for
release
in
the
first
week
of
September.
The
following
are
excerpts
of
Shekher's
telephonic
interview
to
oneindia.in:
"Vegam
is
certainly
different
from
the
usual
Tamil
flicks.
The
story
moves
along
at
a
fast
pace,
much
like
the
title
of
the
film.
Even
the
shooting
for
the
film
was
completed
within
3
months,
and
now
we
are
busy
with
the
post
production
work!
It
is
a
story
about
a
lady
who
is
kidnapped
by
somebody
in
Malaysia
and
how
she
is
rescued
by
an
unknown
young
man
within
the
next
12
hours.
The
story
begins
in
the
morning
and
ends
in
the
evening.
So
you
can
well
imagine
about
the
speed
of
the
script.
Kushboo
is
playing
as
a
Malaysian
citizen,
and
Prabhu
is
acting
in
the
role
of
a
sincere
police
officer.
However,
both
are
not
acting
as
a
pair..."
Talking
about
Ashwins's
performance,
Shekher
told
us,
"Ashwin
has
done
his
job
with
ease.
In
many
scenes
he
seems
like
an
experienced
actor.
The
director
approved
70
percent
of
his
scenes
in
the
very
first
take.
Apparently,
he
has
done
his
homework
well
for
the
past
two
years..."
Further
Shekher
told
us:
"We
have
planned
the
film
for
a
September
release.
Audio
will
be
released
on
August
14
th.
As
soon
as
the
film
hits
the
screens,
I
would
like
to
launch
my
directorial
venture
with
Ashwin.
At
the
same
time,
some
of
the
directors
also
want
to
do
a
film
with
him.
If
the
stories
of
outside
directors
are
good,
I
will
postpone
my
project
for
a
few
months
and
leave
him
to
perform
under
other
directors.
After
all,
I'm
making
these
efforts
to
build
a
strong
platform
for
him.
About
his
Malaysian
experience
with
the
Vegam
crew,
the
actor
expressed
his
disappointment
about
the
Malaysian
Government
for
making
poor
arrangements.
He
told
us:
"I'm
not
complaining.
When
the
tourism
minister
of
Malaysia
visited
Chennai
recently,
he
invited
the
film
personalities
to
Malaysia
to
shoot
their
films
within
the
beautiful
locations
in
his
country.
But
I
suffered
many
problems
in
the
country
during
Vegam's
shoot.
The
minister
couldn't
even
be
contacted!
Since,
the
country
is
celebrating
year
2007
as
the
"Year
of
Tourism" they
must
concentrate
on
providing
more
facilities
to
the
visitors...
