Testing time for the movie director

Working with top heroes is always an acid test for a new director. Bharathan, introduced as a Director through Azhgiya Tamil Magan with Vijay as hero is also facing the test at every stage of the film.

As per the original script, the hero of the story is a very intelligent, hilarious and soft- hearted young man. After the completion of the first schedule, Vijay, the hero felt that there is no scope for action scenes in the story and he asked the director about it. Barathan explained to Vijay the nature of the hero and how it will portray him quite differently from his usual films. But it is said that Vijay was not convinced with the script and he instructed Bharathan to make some changes, suiting the requirements of his action- loving fans. He also insisted upon this with the producer Appachan. Bharathan didn't have any more options. Finally he managed to convince himself and made some alterations in the script and re shot some of the portions which had already been shot in the first schedule.

Bharathan is none other than the dialogue writer of Gilli, which gave a fresh lease of life to Vijay's career after a debacle. On the other hand, it was Vijay who 'appointed' Bharathan as the director of Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Sources say that if everything goes smoothly as per the script of Bharathan, the film would hit the screens on August 15th.
