Vijayan,
one
of
the
talented
actors
in
the
Tamil
and
Malayalam
film
worlds,
suffered
a
massive
cardiac
arrest
on
Saturday
morning,
and
breathed
his
last
at
a
private
hospital
in
Chennai
the
same
morning.
Vijayan
was
one
of
the
finds
of
the
ace
filmmaker
Bharathiraja.
He
made
his
debut
in
the
film
'Niram
Maaradha
Pookkal'
with
Radhika,
which
was
directed
by
Bharathiraja.
Mahendran's
'Uthiri
Pookal'
was
one
of
his
finest
films
in
his
30
years
long
career.
Later,
he
went
on
to
play
a
negative
role
in
Bharathiraja's
'Manvaasanai'
and
his
performance
was
well
appreciated
by
critics.
But
he
went
out
of
the
acting
world
for
nearly
a
decade,
as
his
family
underwent
a
lot
of
suffering.
He
re-
entered
Tamil
films
through
the
blockbusters
Ramana
and
7
G
Rainbow
Colony.
He
acted
in
nearly
150
films
in
Malayalam
and
Tamil.
His
body
has
been
rested
at
his
native
village
in
Kerala.
