Berlinale honours Ameer!

Ameer's classical Blockbuster of 2007 Paruthi Veeran won him the accolades during the final day of Berlin Film Festival. The film had to compete with around 163 films that were from different parts of the world. Right from the beginning, the film was getting good appreciations with five day screening with German and English subtitles and now Ameer is more elated with the film's success.

Ameer also gets a Best Director - Special award from the jury's for his excellent making. Winning such international award is not new to Ameer. He had already got Best Director Award for his outstanding work in Raam in the year 2006 at Cyprus film festival. No other Tamil director is having such a pride and recognition in a very short period.

So far, Ameer has directed just three films (Mounam Pesiyathey, Raam and Paruthi Veeran) and all were super hit. He will return to Chennai today and will meet the press to brief the honour that he has received in the Berlinale.
