Ameer's
classical
Blockbuster
of
2007
Paruthi
Veeran
won
him
the
accolades
during
the
final
day
of
Berlin
Film
Festival.
The
film
had
to
compete
with
around
163
films
that
were
from
different
parts
of
the
world.
Right
from
the
beginning,
the
film
was
getting
good
appreciations
with
five
day
screening
with
German
and
English
subtitles
and
now
Ameer
is
more
elated
with
the
film's
success.
Ameer
also
gets
a
Best
Director
-
Special
award
from
the
jury's
for
his
excellent
making.
Winning
such
international
award
is
not
new
to
Ameer.
He
had
already
got
Best
Director
Award
for
his
outstanding
work
in
Raam
in
the
year
2006
at
Cyprus
film
festival.
No
other
Tamil
director
is
having
such
a
pride
and
recognition
in
a
very
short
period.
So
far,
Ameer
has
directed
just
three
films
(Mounam
Pesiyathey,
Raam
and
Paruthi
Veeran)
and
all
were
super
hit.
He
will
return
to
Chennai
today
and
will
meet
the
press
to
brief
the
honour
that
he
has
received
in
the
Berlinale.
