Ameer,
known
as
one
of
the
Trend
Setters
in
Tamil,
will
be
felicitated
by
Tamil
Film
journalists
on
Monday
for
bagging
the
special
award
for
his
film
Paruthi
Veeran
in
Berlinale,
a
month
ago.
The
film
was
honoured
with
a
special
award
under
Asian
category
for
best
direction
and
a
special
mention
of
the
juries
in
58th
Berlin
International
film
festival.
To
felicitate
Ameer
for
achieving
the
high
for
the
first
time
in
Tamil
Cinema
History,
the
Cinema
Press
Club
a
forum
of
film
journalists
in
Tamil,
has
planned
to
organize
a
grand
function.
The
function
will
be
held
at
Film
Chamber
Theatre
on
Monday
evening
6
pm.
It
may
be
recalled
that
Paruthi
Veeran
was
also
screened
at
the
prestigious
Cannes
Film
Festival
last
year.
His
earlier
film
'Ram'
too
got
an
international
honor
by
getting
screened
in
Cyprus
International
Film
Festival
in
2006.
Ameer
has,
meanwhile,
postponed
his
film
featuring
Jayam
Ravi.
He
will
start
the
project
with
Vikram
after
finishing
his
current
project
'Yogi',
in
which
he
plays
the
lead
role.
