Everyone is so curious about the scene where Arun jumps from the first floor of a building "the Parkour way". But they are also curious to know why the film is named Malai Malai?! Have the film's makers honoured the tradition of naming films after famous songs and named it after Malai Malai of Chocolate (featuring Mumtaz)?! No says director A. Venkatesh, explaining that the hero and the villain of his film are as strong as mountains and the two "Malai" in the title refers to the hero and the villain! (In Tamil, malai means mountain.)

According to this talented director famous for making "commercial action entertainers", Malai Malai will have all that fans can expect from him and more! He adds that the fight sequences of Malai Malai will be more exciting; the screenplay will be different and the villain will be given importance on par with the hero! Talented and popular actor Prakashraj is the sauve villain in Malai Malai.

Malai Malai had a photo session in Thailand which was initially marred with incidents like the Thai army arresting the crew when they inadvertently strayed into a restricted zone (Koi Man Islands). Nevertheless, the crew completed its session successfully in other areas of Thailand. The film's shooting will begin next month and by then Venkatesh would have almost completed the shooting of Vaada (Sundar C. and Sheryl Pinto).

Malai Malai is produced by doctor-turned-producer Dr. Mohan (Arun Vijay's father-in-law) and Hemanth Kumar. It is considered one of the most promising films of 2009. It also stars Prabhu and Vadivelu.
