Ilayaraaja-Sangili Murugan join again

Isaignani Ilayaraja joined again with one of his close friends Sangili Murugan in Azhagar Malai, a film with typical Madurai backdrop. Kadhalukku Mariyathai is the last film in which Ilayaraja and Sangili Murugan worked together. After this film, Murugan stopped film production temporarily due to financial reason.

But he has a part as a production controller in many super hit films like Jayam, Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi. After the gap of 10 long years, Sangili Murugan returns to film production with Azhagar Malai.

SP Rajakumar directs the film. Earlier, he has directed Pon Manam with Prabhu and Suvalakshmi. RK, introduced as a baddie in Thoondil is going to make his maiden appearance as hero through this movie. Bhanu is doing the lead lady role after her successful debut in Thamirabarani.

The shooting is going on at Madurai, Theni and nearby areas.
