The Tamil Nadu Government adjudged actress Khushboo as the Best Small Screen Actress of the year 2007. Abhishek was selected as the Best Actor for the year. Actress Devi Priya, the actress who caught in sex controversy last year, was selected as the Best Character Actress of year 2007. The Best Serial Award goes to 'Selvi' produced by Radhika Sarath Kumar's Radan Media works.
The award is comprised with a cash prize of Rs.2 lakhs, Gold coated memento and a certificate. Interestingly, most of the awards gone to serials telecasted in Sun TV, an arch rival of Chief Minister owned Kalaignar TV! A panel comprised 8 members including the director of information and publicity lead by its Chairperson Justice Maruthamuthu watched all the 14 serials and finally announced the best.
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr. Karunanidhi will distribute awards to the artists and technicians in a grand ceremony held at Kalaivanar Arangam later. The date will be announced soon according to the convenience of the Chief Minister.
