Malavika takes maternity leave

Having completed an item song with Vijay in Kuruvi, pregnant Malavika bid good-bye to all her colleagues from Tamil film industry and left for Bangalore to take rest.

The actress said that she would return to films after a few years. "This is like a maternity leave which women have in other professions. I will return soon," promises the actress on the sets of Prasad Studios, Chennai.

She danced for her last number in Vijay's forthcoming movie Kuruvi, Dundun darrna… with Vijay and Vivek. After considering her health, the dance master eased the complicated movements a bit and later she completed the song successfully.

Due to her pregnancy, the actress had already pulled out from the big project Indhira Vizha directed by Rajeshwar. But she managed to complete her role in Vijay's Kuruvi.
