Kamukara Award to singer P B Srinivas

Noted singer P B Srinivas has been selected for this year's 'Kamukara Award' instituted by the 'Kamukara Foundation.' Announcing the award at a press meet in Kochi, Foundation President Dr M. Venugopal said Srinivas has been chosen for the award considering his immense contribution to the field of music including playback singing.

The Foundation, which is a centre for development of music and allied arts, was formed in memory of the renowned singer Kamukara Purushothaman.

The award, consisting of a plaque, citation and cash prize of Rs 25,000, will be presented at a function on November 8th here.

He has sung numerous film songs under music maestros like Devarajan, Baburaj, K Raghavan, Salil Chaudhary and Dakshinamoorthy.
