List of Pongal 2008 releases

This year Pongal race will start with Bheema, the Vikram-Trisha starrer on 11th January, Friday. Since Pongal is the biggest season for Tamil films with a long opening (This year it is 7 days!), every producer is eagerly waiting to release their film on this occasion to earn good amount in the opening itself. People show great interest even to watch an average movie. Here are some of the confirmed entrants for the Pongal race.

The Pongal list was Cheran's Piravum Sandhipum, Silambarasan's Kaalai, Madhavan's Vazhthukal, Myskin's Anjathey, Bharath's Palani, Late Jeeva's Dhaam Dhoom, Prakash Raj's Vellithirai, Dhanush's Yaradi Nee Mogini and Vadivel's Indralokathil Na Azhagappan.

Now with Bheema getting censored and ensured its release for Pongal, the producers of small films have planned to postpone their releases.As of now, films Piravum Sandhipum, Kaalai, Vazhthukal and Palani are confirmed theaters also. The complete picture would be clear with in a day or two!
